On this course you will learn how to provide care for people who have additional social, physical and emotional needs. This will involve looking at the issues that affect the person requiring care, such as illness, disability, or mobility, and then finding ways you can support and help them. This might be through preparing food, managing medicines, or helping around the house. You will also look at the many different settings for care, which can be a residential centre or a person's home.
To start this course you will need to be aged 16-19 (up to 24 with an EHCP) and have achieved Maths and English at Level 1 / Grade 2 minimum. Enrolment on the course will be dependent on completing a four week assessment based on your attitude, motivation and commitment to the course.
