We offer private candidates the opportunity to sit their Maths and/or English Functional Skills Level 1 or Level 2 exams at our centre, conveniently located on the outskirts of Leicester City Centre. Exams can be booked for any day and time Monday to Friday during opening hours subject to confirmation of availability.

 

We use City and Guilds as the awarding body for Functional Skills Exams. 

 

We can also offer tuition either in a small group or on a one-to-one basis, see cost below.

Functional Skills English 

To gain the English Language qualification (4748-02) you will need to complete the following exams:

Reading exam (On-line, 1 hour)
​Writing exam (On-line, 1 hour 20 minutes)​
Speaking Listening and Communicating – Presentation with the English Tutor (30 minutes approximately)

 

 

Functional Skills Maths

To gain the Maths qualification (4748-04) you will need to complete the following exams (both sat at the same time):

Non-Calculator exam (On-line, 30 minutes)
​Calculator exam (On-line, 1 hour 15 minutes)​

Registrations

​

​You need to book an appointment to bring in your photo ID and complete the registration form.​​ All registrations need to be completed by the person sitting the exam as Photo ID will be checked.

Fees for registrations are as follows:

Functional Skills English £149 

Functional Skills Mathematics £99 

 

The fees for private candidates include registration, exams, and certification. We currently accept payment by cash or BACS transfer only (card payments coming soon) and payment needs to be made in full before registration can be made.

 

If you wish to cancel your registration there will be an admin fee of £49.

​Private Tuition Now Available

​

One to One tuition is available with a subject tutor at a cost of £50 per hour.

Small group tuition (max 4-6 people) tuition is available with a subject tutor at a cost of £25 per hour.

 

The tuition will be available between the hours of 3.00pm – 7.00pm Monday to Thursday subject to availability.

There are limited spaces so these need to be booked, and fees paid. in advance.
